Cape Town - The Absa Premiership game between Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch could be affected by the ongoing load shedding crisis that has hit the country.
Power utility Eskom have been implementing cuts to electricity throughout the entire country and it is seemingly getting worse with unprecedented levels of stage 6 having been reached.
Sundowns are set to host Stellies on Wednesday, December 11 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium with the game in danger of being seriously affected by power outages.
Loftus stadium operations manager Hugo Kemp told TimesLIVE: "We have communicated with the City of Tshwane but there is no guarantee that the lights will be on during the game on Wednesday.
"We have a good relationship with the City of Tshwane and our best endeavours are to make sure that there is power at the stadium for the match to take place as scheduled.
"We don't have a back-up generator, but we are looking at the possibility of getting one that can operate separately from the city council power."
Sundowns will want the game to be rescheduled as they are already playing catch-up to league leaders Kaizer Chiefs due their commitments in the CAF Champions League.
Masadawana are 13 points behind Amakhosi but have played two games less than the Soweto club.
