Letsholonyane eyes new Highlands deal

Veteran midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane is hopeful he has done enough to earn a new contract with Highlands Park.

The 37-year-old former Bafana Bafana international is out of contract with the Lions of the North in June 2020.

With all sporting activities on hold as a result of the coronavirus, Letsholonyane will have to wait for his future to be decided.

Despite turning 38 in June, the evergreen midfielder is motivated to keep playing, and hopes he has suitably impressed since his switch from SuperSport United in 2019.

Speaking to KickOff, Letsholonyane said: "Yeah it expires (the contract) but like I said before it's my agent who is taking care of those things.

"As for me I don't really negotiate my contracts. So, whoever is entrusted knows whether they have started the negotiations or not, so they go to my agent. But to me at the moment my agent hasn't said anything."

Letsholonyane added: "Look, I think obviously I started when the league had already begun, already played few games, and I can safely say the games that I've played, including the effort that I've put in at training and attitude and whatever, I do think I've done my best.

"To answer your question, I can say I can only control what I can do which is my contribution and performance. So, I've been doing what is needed to be done on my part."
