Leeuwenburgh ruled out of Nedbank Cup clash with concussion

Cape Town - Cape Town City confirmed on Wednesday morning that goalkeeper Peter Leeuwenburgh will miss the Nedbank Cup clash against Mbombela United with concussion.

Leeuwenburgh sustained the injury in the 1-1 draw with Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday.

“After initial tests, we can confirm that Peter Leeuwenburgh has suffered a mid concussion in our last game (against Maritzburg United). Peter will be targeting his return in our fixture against Polokwane City in 12 days time, speedy recovery,”said City in a statement.

Kermit Erasmus suffered a grade-two hamstring tear in the stalemate with the Team of Choice and City confirmed on Tuesday morning that the striker would be sidelined for two months.
