Cape Town - Former Golden Arrows mentor Clinton Larsen has signed a deal until the end of the season to become the new coach of Chippa United.
Chippa have already had three coaches this season though they have all been sacked as the Chilli Boys continued to endure poor form.
Dan Malesela was the first to get the chop, before the axe later fell on Eric Tinkler's neck.
Joel Masutha was the latest to see his head roll off the chopping block at the hands of club boss Chippa Mpengesi.
Nonetheless, Mpengesi says he is hopeful that Larsen can survive until the end of the campaign although this would take positive results on the field of play.
The Port Elizabeth-based outfit have a break until 19 January before their next game which seemingly hands time to Larsen to get his methods across to the players.
The coach's representative Mike Makaab confirmed to Soccer Laduma that Larsen has penned a deal until the end of the current season.
United are in all kinds of trouble in the relegation zone having not won a game since October.
Chippa face fellow strugglers Maritzburg United later this month in what will be a six-pointer for both outfits.
