Polokwane City head coach Clinton Larsen has joined the chorus of voices proclaiming the Rulani Mokwena will be a good fit at Chippa United.
Larsen coached Chippa himself in 2019 but left after a string of poor results, so is well aware the pressures that come with the role at the club.
Armed with this knowledge, he is confident Mokwena is destined to succeed where he did not - even though the former Pirates coach struggled when handed the reins at the Soweto giants.
Following his failed stint at Bucs, Rulani reportedly headed to Europe to further his coaching qualifications and has returned to South Africa to take charge at the Chilli Boys.
Local football is currently split with some confident Mokwena will succeed while the rest believe he won't last very long at all.
"I often read 'don't pack your bags' or something," said Larsen, according to KickOff.
"Listen, Rulani's got to believe in himself. He's a very talented young coach. He's going to have ups and downs in his career.
"He has already had some downs but I'm sure soon he will bounce back and do well. He is very intelligent, very talented and you know as coaches sometimes like players you've got to find the right fit.
"Maybe Chippa is the right fit, who knows? Time will tell, so yeah I wish him all the best. It's not going to be easy but all the best Rulani."
