Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns left back Tebogo Langerman praised goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene for his two injury time saves which secured three points against Chippa United on Tuesday.
In the Premiership contest Mark Mayambela handed the Chilli Boys a shock lead before Hlompho Kekana headed home an equaliser.
Sibusiso Vilakazi and Gaston Sirino made it 3-1 in the second stanza before Rhulani Manzini pulled another goal back to put the cat amongst the pigeons in the final moments of the game.
Mweene proved to the late hero as after pawing away a firm shot from the right, he was able to save from Lerato Manzini's snap shot after Thapelo Morena's mistimed clearance dropped at the feet of the forward in the box.
It was an incredibly sharp save from the Zambia star and it means that the Brazilians go top of the table tied on 50 points with Orlando Pirates, who lead on goal difference.
Langerman, who was named Man-of-the-Match in the game, told SuperSport: "That was a great by Kennedy. I mean we needed him. We've been doing the job, so this time he can do the job for us.
"First I would like to thank the supporters for coming in numbers, especially on a Tuesday. It was a good game for both teams. Chippa fought and at least we managed to hold on for the three points.
"Hlompho, the captain, always leads by example and he managed to get us back into the game."
