Lakay confident he'll thrive 'at home'

Cape Town - Cape Town City winger Lyle Lakay believes he'll be a force to be reckoned with next season after moving back to his home town.

Lyle, who was also briefly with SuperSport United, has become a prominent member of the Celtic side after completing five seasons with the team.

It was therefore somewhat of a surprise when Cape Town City announced his signing, although the deal was put on hold due to a contractual dispute.

Having had the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) iron the matter out, and with midfielder Given Mashikinya now going the opposite way in what has become a swap agreement, Lakay is looking forward to what he feels will be an exciting new chapter in his career.

"Celtic got something and I get to be where I want to be. So, it is settled and there is no beef. No hard feelings," he told the SowetanLIVE website.

"I'm really enjoying it, not that I wasn't enjoying it at Celtic, and to be home also with my family. I'm that sort of person who thrives on being around my family. It's something good for me," the 25-year-old winger said of being back home in the Mother City.
