Kotei says Chiefs can learn from Mamelodi Sundowns

Cape Town - New Kaizer Chiefs midfielder James Kotei says the club can learn from the fighting spirit displayed by reigning Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kotei has big ambitions to help Chiefs qualify once again for the CAF Champions League and he believes emulating Sundowns can certainly help in this endeavor.

The Ghanaian has tasted CCL football with his former club Simba and he is eager to once again compete in Africa's most prestigious club competition.

He said: "For sure for a club like Kaizer Chiefs they have what it takes to play in the Champions League because they have done it before, so it's not something new for the club.

"It's about the players to put the club there and fight just as Sundowns players are fighting for their club. We also have to fight for the club, no matter what, so that Kaizer Chiefs can come up again.

"Every man has to have a dream. You just can't be employed and say you are just there. You must have a dream. I'm here to work and if Chiefs gets to a higher level, then my CV will be better, so it's all about the mentality."

The Glamour Boys are back in action on Saturday evening when they take on Black Leopards at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. Kickoff is 20:15.
