Cape Town - Ayabulela Konqobe claims is ready to fulfill his undoubted potential with his new club Chippa United and help them bring silverware to Port Elizabeth.
Konqobe, 21, captained the likes of Rivaldo Coetzee and Fagrie Lakay during their time with Amajita before the latter pair went on to make their senior national team debuts.
Graduating as one of the most promising defenders from Ajax Cape Town, Konqobe's career went on a downward spiral while his teammate Coetzee excelled on the domestic and national team scene.
Failed loan spells at SuperSport United and AmaZulu saw the Urban Warriors release the talented defender before he found a new home in Durban with Thanda Royal Zulu - where his performances in defence led the club to the National First Division title last season.
His form with the now defunct TRZ, who sold their top-flight status to AmaZulu, led to interest from Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and AmaZulu but Chippa eventually secured his services after a drawn out contractual dispute with Usuthu.
"I am very excited to be part of Chippa United. It's a new start, new journey and new challenge for me to become a better person and player," he told the club's website.
"The reception was amazing, meeting a lot of players that I've played with and players who come from the same place as me."
The South Africa youth international has set lofty ambitions with the Chilli Boys and praised his new head coach for the way he's introduced him and integrated him within the Premiership side's squad.
"Titles, every player dreams about titles and I'm young. I still have plans to win a lot of championships, and what better team to do it with than Chippa.
"Head coach Dan Malesela was brilliant from day one, giving me a warm welcome, and I'm excited to be working with him."
