Komphela: We planned to win

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela had plenty of positives to take away from his side's 4-0 triumph over Volcan Club de Moroni in the CAF Champions League.

Amakhosi produced an assured performance away from home, giving themselves a massive cushion ahead of the second leg of the preliminary qualifying round clash.

Goals from Bernard Parker, Erick Mathoho and Sula Matovu sealed the deal, extending Chiefs' winning run to four games in all competitions.

"We planned to win this match," Komphela told the club's official website. "That's what we got, a good result away from home.

"Any game away from home is difficult. They didn't pose much danger, but we had to adapt under the different conditions from what we are used to.

"I am happy with the team's performance."

He added: "We will take this result to the next game. We just want to continue our winning form.

"We took courage from the win against Maritzburg United, which led to beating Golden Arrows and, accordingly, we got one over Bidvest Wits. And we did the same here."

Next up for the Soweto giants is clash with SuperSport United at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening, where Komphela's men will be targeting a fourth consecutive Absa Premiership victory.
