Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic have announced the arrival of eight new players to bolster Steve Komphela's squad ahead of the Absa Premiership season.

Komphela returned to his home province this month to take charge of Siwelele, having previously managed Free State Stars during two separate spells earlier in his career.

Veselin Jelusic resigned as coach shortly after the end of the 2017/18 campaign amid uncertainty over the club's future.

The Serbian guided Celtic to the Telkom Knockout final and finished just one point outside the top-eight in 11 -place.

Komphela has been tasked with getting Phunya Sele Sele back into the upper echelons of the league and he's increased competition for place in his team with the acquisitions of Tebogo Potsane, Ryan De Jongh, Thato Lingwhati, Mpusana Tani, Bongani Sam, Langa Mvana, Ramasimong Maloisane and Rendani Ndou.

Celtic get proceedings underway with the visit of Chippa United to the Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
