Komphela happy with Chiefs' new recruits

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has revealed why he is happy with the club's new recruits after last Saturday's 2-0 victory over Orlando Pirates.

Chiefs brought in 10 new players after a disappointing 2015/16 campaign, and all eyes were on some of the debutants during last weekend's Soweto derby.

The players to make their debut against Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup were Lewis Macha, Sibusiso Khumalo, Emmanuel Letlotlo and Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

The Glamour Boys have also brought on board Keagan Buchanan, Enocent Mkhabela, Edmore Chirambadare, Michelle Katsvairo, Ryan Moon and Siyabonga Ngezana. However, none of these players saw game time against the Buccaneers.

Nonetheless, those involved in the action largely impressed as Chiefs went on to record a 2-0 victory. It was Macha who snatched the headlines as his late header sealed the win for Chiefs.

Nonetheless, coach Komphela believes his new recruits, particularly in the striking department, give the club plenty of options.

He told KickOff: "It's not that we're spoilt for choice, but we hope each one we throw in in any match will get us a goal. If that happens, we shall all be happy."
