Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela expects new signing Leonardo Castro to
be a goal-scoring revelation for the Soweto giants.
The Colombian marksman, a CAF Champions League winner at Mamelodi Sundowns, signed for Chiefs just before the Christmas break.
A delay in his paperwork means he has not yet debuted for Glamour Boys, and Komphela says he can't wait to get his new striker on the field.
"We are waiting for him to get his papers and as soon as that happens‚ he is ready," Komphela was quoted saying by the Sowetan.
"If he had them last week we could have introduced him [against Polokwane City]‚ so we are desperate to get his papers.
"The guy is a finisher‚ he is unbelievable‚ he is class and that is what you want," The Amakhosi mentor is hopeful that Castro could be the missing piece in the puzzle that he has been looking for.
"For far too long we have had problems on top. Everything else is okay – at the back‚ in the midfield‚ it is all okay. But we were not that convincing on top and now we have strengthened there."
Amakhosi next face Baroka FC in an Absa Premiership clash on Sunday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium with the fourth-placed Soweto giants aiming to close the gap to the top of the table.
Kick-off is at 15:30.
