Komphela hails Chiefs duo

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has applauded Sula Matovu and William Twala for their efforts in the 1-0 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

Matovu deputised with aplomb for the injured George Lebese, while Twala made his debut after signing from Chippa United last week.

Twala won a penalty for Chiefs in the 71st minute, which was converted by midfielder Willard Katsande at the Free State Stadium.

"Sula played well and added value with his desire to get behind their defence. He was marked by good Celtic defenders," Komphela told the club's website.

"As for Twala it was more of introducing him to have a feel and get a warm welcome from the fans. Twala nearly scored with a pile driver that shaved the upright.

"We have stated in the preview that we needed Lebese's services badly. His groin injury is not as bad as we thought. He should be back anytime soon."

The Glamour Boys will next face Platinum Stars at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.
