Cape Town - Golden Arrows coach Steve Komphela has not ruled out the possibility that he could again work with striker Gustavo Paez or any of his former players Kaizer Chiefs.
Paez was one of a few players, including Hedrick Ekstein, that was released by the Amakhosi last week while goalkeeper Virgil Vries also had his contract terminated on Wednesday.
Komphela coached the Amakhosi between 2015 and 2018 and still has many close relationships with some players at the Soweto giants.
That was evident when Paez thanked Komphela for bringing him to Chiefs in the first place and the coach responded saying he was touched by the message.
Komphela said in quotes on Kick-Off: "I'm touched by his message. Paez and I would talk about almost everything, from their struggle in his country to football.
"Maybe that's why he felt closer with me than any other person. To me football is a tool to drive certain objections in life.
"I'm all about changing lives and if the Almighty allows us to unite, let it be, he has a family to look after and I wish him all the best.
"He can't be a bad player overnight."
