Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela believes Saturday's mouth-watering clash against Mamelodi Sundowns is crucial in the race for the Absa Premiership title.
Amakhosi will go into the contest boasting some good form having won four and drawn once in their last five league matches.
Meanwhile, the league-leading Brazilians got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Platinum Stars.
Chiefs recorded a come-from-behind win over Baroka in their last match with new striker Leo Castro bagging the decisive winning goal. As such, Komphela says he was happy with the performance as it boded well for the clash with Sundowns.
"We started slow and conceded a goal in the first half. However, I am happy with the way we recovered. We showed our character and I am delighted with this victory," he told the club's official website:
"Credit to the lads, they showed professionalism. It is a great experience and confidence builder to win with 10 men. Castro had an excellent debut. It is good to see new players scoring. It will build his confidence.
"We've been struggling to convert our build-ups into goals and I am glad we scored four in our last two games. It is game on now.
"It is still a long way to go, but it's important to remain close to the leading pack. It is showtime and it promises to be an interesting race to the finish."
Kick-off is at 20:15.
