Cape Town - Influential Wits winger Daine Klate deflected praise to coach Gavin Hunt after leading the club to the MTN8 title after a 3-0 win over Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
Klate powered Wits to victory with a brace while also playing a hand in the goal from Eleazar Rodgers at the Mbombela Stadium.
The 31 year-old hailed Hunt for his persistence after four tough seasons at Wits without silverware since joining from SuperSport United.
"If anyone deserves Man-of-the-Match it's our coach, he's been unbelievable since he came to Wits," Klate said as quoted by KickOff.
"You know what, our coach is the Man of the Match, he deserves it more than anyone else today.
"We came out here and played with no fear: In the change room we said 'boys you know what, these are the occasions we worked for in pre-season'.
"So we went out there with absolutely no fear today and we enjoyed the game, and what a team performance.
"The coach is always spot on, when we give it our all, when we do what he says we must do, we do exceptionally well. I'm just very happy for the brand Bidvest Wits.
"The most important thing for me is the badge in the front, you know, one day when I retire I can reflect on all the success that I’ve had in cups wins and league titles but for now I still want to go strong and I'm very happy that I contributed to the success of the team."
