Cape Town - Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo is nearing full fitness after recovering from an ankle injury and could be available soon for upcoming matches.

Khuzwayo, who was a high profile signing from Kaizer Chiefs though he is yet to make his official debut, was forced out of action towards the end of pre-season with his injury.

He has since been in recovery, with Siyabonga Mpontshane taking the number one spot although Wayne Sandilands did make a single appearance.

Nonetheless, Pirates are set to face Golden Arrows and AmaZulu in October and it appears that the Bafana Bafana international will be available to coach Milutin Sredojevic.

A source told the Citizen: "He wants to play so badly, you can tell when he is watching from the stands during match days.

"But he is okay now, he should be back anytime. I think the club just don't want to rush him."
