Cape Town - Itumeleng Khune says Kaizer Chiefs players are hungry to bring the glory days back at the club ahead of the new season.
Chiefs recently appointed Giovanni Solinas as the club's new coach and Khune is adamant their new mentor will hit the ground running.
The Soweto giants last weekend clinched the pre-season Bokone Bophirima Maize Cup after beating Free State Stars on penalties in the final.
Chiefs will continue their preparations for the new season when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns in the Shell Helix Ultra Cup on Saturday.
Khune told the SABC: "It's important that we get results, have to play entertaining football and we have to go back to winning trophies. I mean, that's our culture.
"It's our responsibility as the senior players to help the young ones to also adapt. To help them go into the new season and face challenges.
"We have to get results and win trophies for the club. We have all been thirsty.
"It's very important to set our minds on bringing the glory days back."
