Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune confirmed that he is on the road to recovery following his knee injury.

Khune suffered a torn meniscus during training after being called up to the Bafana Bafana camp.

The 28-year-old had to be withdrawn from the squad and has since gone under the knife to have surgery on his knee.

According to Khune’s official Instagram account, the 'keeper says that he is starting to train again after weeks of allowing his knee heal post-surgery.

“I'm thankful for all the messages of support that's been pouring in,” said the post.

“I'm back on the field jogging again and I can proudly say I'm on the road to recovering.”

However, the return date for Khune to start training with the full Amakhosi squad is still unknown.
