Khumalo reacts to Chiefs' Telkom draw

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs defender Sibusiso Khumalo has reacted cautiously after they drew Maritzburg United in the Telkom Knockout Last 16.

The draw was conducted on Thursday in Johannesburg as the Glamour Boys were handed a home tie against the Team of Choice.

Other more notable fixtures in the round include Orlando Pirates hosting Golden Arrows, while Mamelodi Sundowns will face Polokwane City at home.

All the matches are scheduled to take place from October 18 onwards, although dates, venues and times will be confirmed closer to the fixtures.

"It's a fair draw and no draw is easy," Chiefs left-back Khumalo told the club's official website.

"We played against them already in the league so they are not a closed book for us."

Meanwhile, when the PSL returns Chiefs travel to Durban in one of three of their home-away-from-home fixtures.

Amakhosi will face Ajax Cape Town on October 15 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Kick-off is at 18:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
