Kerr quits Leopards after securing PSL safety

Cape Town - Black Leopards chairman David Thidiela has confirmed that Dylan Kerr has stepped down from his position as head coach of the first team.

Kerr managed to help Leopards survive relegation to the National First Division though it required a 1-0 victory over Cape Town City on the last day of the season to ensure safety.

Nonetheless, it appeared the Englishman was highly regarded by Lidoda Duvha officials and fans as at times Leopards played some enterprising attacking football.

Nonetheless, it seems the former Leeds United player has decided to seek a new challenge elsewhere after resigning from his post for undisclosed reasons and returning to the United Kingdom.

Thidiela told Lim Sports: "Yes, he has sent his resignation letter, but as a team, we are closed for the season now but we will sit down and release an official statement on the way forward."

It is unclear at this stage who the outfit from Thohoyandou will name as his replacement.

Kerr has also since been linked with the SuperSport United job despite Kaitano Tembo enjoying a good season in charge in Pretoria.
