Kekana: We need to monitor the ball closely

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfield enforcer Hlompho Kekana admits that his team enter the clash against Orlando Pirates confident of victory.

Table-topping Sundowns have already got the better of Pirates once this season after the 2-0 win late last year.

The Brazilians are flying high in the league with 42 points from 18 games while the Buccaneers have been lukewarm with 23 points from 17 outings.

"We are hoping to continue the good run of form that we have been enjoying thus far in the league," Kekana said on the club's website.

"We take every match as it comes and prepare accordingly, but our recipe is the same for every match. We take into account what the opposition can do, but do what we do best because that's what we have control over.

"Another motivating factor for us is that we have enjoyed some good results at the Orlando Stadium, but don’t get me wrong because everyone knows what Pirates can do on a good day.

"Their pace and movement of the ball will need to be closely monitored on the day."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
