Kekana: Our recipe is teamwork

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns anchorman Hlompho Kekana has revealed teamwork and positive spirit as the driving force behind the Brazilians' successful campaign.

Sundowns lifted their second Premiership title in three years last week, finishing the season with a double, having already won the Telkom Knockout.

Their African dream also remains alive, following the club's reinstatement to the CAF Champions League after AS Vita were disqualified on Tuesday.

Kekana, who has been nominated for three individual prizes at the PSL Awards, talks up his second successful campaign with the Brazilians, after winning the first double with coach Pitso Mosimane back in 2014.

"Our recipe is our teamwork, I think we managed to create a good environment for every player who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns, for us to believe and trust in," he told the PSL's official website.

"I think that has been our recipe, we have managed to trust in every player who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns and it has worked for us, I think we're now the champions of South African football because of that.

"I would be unfair if I start comparing the two because I always tell people that winning the league is a feeling that you can't ever explain to anybody.

"Nobody will even understand if he doesn't even play the game. It's a feeling that you are really looking forward to even if you already won the league before. Even now, a few weeks after we secured the title, I'm still excited in a way that I can't even contain myself. I lack words to explain the feeling.

"Mamelodi Sundowns has been good to me and my family and I see Mamelodi Sundowns as my second family. I enjoy my life and my football there, we will see what the future holds."
