Keet signs with Belgian club after leaving Wits

Cape Town - Goalkeeper Darren Keet has completed a move to Belgian side OH Leuven after leaving Bidvest Wits.

It won't be Keet's first stint in Belgian football as he made more than 140 appearances for KV Kortrijk between 2011 and 2016 and also helped the club win the Belgian Cup in 2012.

The 29-year-old Keet, who represented Bafana Bafana in the recent African Cup of Nations, kept 10 clean sheets in 26 matches last season and always said he wanted to return to Europe.

OH Leuven's technical director Wim De Corte said on the club's website: "With the arrival of Darren Keet we are strengthening our core with an experienced goalkeeper.

"He has both international and Belgian experience."

Keet has represented Bafana Bafana nine times at the highest level with his debut coming in 2013 against Zimbabwe.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
