Katsande: We have adapted to Komphela

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande says the ease in which they defeated Ajax Cape Town is a sign that the squad has now adjusted to the tactics of Steve Komphela.

Amakhosi played some scintillating football in their 2-0 win over the Urban Warriors at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday, with Lorenzo Gordinho and George Lebese getting on the scoresheet.

Now, as Chiefs occupy top spot in the Premiership standings, Katsande feels they have turned the corner after a slow start to the season put them under severe pressure from fans and the media.

"The victory was surprisingly easier than expected as Ajax always pose a great threat us," the Zimbabwean told KickOff.

"But it was sweet and unforgettable as one likes to get a win over your old team. I'm just very happy for the three points as we are climbing the ladder.

"Obviously this victory will mean a lot to the fans and club and we need to repay them for their support that they've shown through thick and thin.

"We are all still learning the coach's philosophy but you can see that we're buying into his tactics and styles - it was just a matter of time.

"We always knew it will take time but things are [now] falling into place and that's why it's important we all [remain] patient.
