Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande believes that another lacklustre season from the team would be unacceptable.
Last season was difficult for Chiefs after losing both MTN8 and Telkom Knockout finals and missing out on the Absa Premiership title.
Amakhosi failed to defend their title after finish 25 points behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, Chiefs will be looking a good start against Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
"As players, we are very serious about this game. The Derby is sold out and it is an important game," Katsande told Goal.com website.
"There is no way that we will give 50 percent, we will give 100 percent and try and make our fans happy - make those who voted for us happy.
"We have also brought new players to the club and we will see how far we are along in pre-season this weekend.
"It is not a good thing for a team like Chiefs to finish the season without a trophy. We all know the history of the club.
"We will approach this season with a different mindset. We need to achieve something for ourselves, the team and the supporters."
