Kaizer Chiefs unveil new 2019/20 kit

Cape Town - Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday unveiled their new home and away kit for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

After weeks of teasing and speculation, Kaizer Chiefs and Nike have officially unveiled the 2019/20 home and away kits supported by the theme #BackToBrilliance.

Bolder than ever, the Kaizer Chiefs 2019/20 home jersey is nothing short of confident.  The striking new home jersey is an instant classic and features a distinctive and energetic pattern.

"The new kit represents our vision for the new season. This year we're resetting; resetting our minds to reignite the passion and energy of the Amakhosi," says Jessica Motaung, Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director.

The home jersey is a new take on a classic and the design is reminiscent of the jersey worn by the team between 2011 and 2013 – the jersey saw Kaizer Chiefs win the league and the Nedbank Cup in the 2012/13 season.

In contrast to the home kit, the away jersey is crisp white and embellished with the classic Gold & Black trim on the sleeves and neck. "As with the home jersey, this is another nod to our rich history. We decided to pay tribute to our white jersey that was donned by legends and former players like Thabo Mooki, Collins Mbesuma, Jimmy Tau, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Knowledge Musona, Kaizer Motaung Jnr and Jabu Pule," adds Motaung.

The new kit comes with a full range including a women’s and kids jersey, a golf shirt as well as a NK196 track top. The collection is available from 23 July at Kaizer Chiefs retail stores, Nike stores and leading retailers in SA and neighbouring countries. The range can also be purchased from the KC Digistore and Nike.com.

The Amakhosi will debut the new kit at the Soweto Derby on July 27 at FNB Stadium.
