Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the whereabouts of trialist Ismael Olivier Toure after his failure to board his plane home to Ivory Coast.
After failing to make the grade during his assessment with the Soweto giants, the necessary arrangements were made by Chiefs to send Toure back to his country, but in a dramatic turn of events, the Naturena-based outfit revealed that Toure did not board his plane and a subsequent investigation has been opened in an a bid to locate him.
"We discovered this upon receiving notification of his suspended flight ticket by our travel agency," manager Bobby Motaung told the club's official website.
"Which meant that the player didn't travel as planned.
"We confirmed on Wednesday, 18 January, to release the player back to his country.
"All the necessary travel arrangements were made and we transported and checked him in at OR Tambo International.
"We are concerned.
"The player arrived in the country on our invitation and therefore it is our responsibility to ensure his safe return to Ivory Coast. We trust that he is okay," he concluded.
