Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that goalkeeper Luthando Sixhaso has had his contract terminated by mutual consent and wished him well for the rest of his career.
The 24-year-old arrived at Naturena in 2015/16 but struggled to win a place in the starting line-up. Current number one Itumeleng Khune virtually owns the position while number two Brilliant Khuzwayo is a Bafana Bafana international. Brylon Petersen and Bruce Bvuma are also highly regarded.
Sixhaso joined National First Division outfit Cape Town All Stars on loan at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign, although was unable to secure a first team place in the Mother City as he slipped behind in the pecking order to Ludwe Mpakumpaku. He has now been released with no news yet as to where his next destination might be. Chiefs' official website said: "The club has reached mutual agreement on the termination of Luthando Sixhaso's contract.
"He is now free to join a team of his choice. We thank him for his service and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
The shot-stopper follows striker Michelle Katsvairo permanently out of the exit door while winger William Twala has joined Maritzburg United on loan until the end of the campaign.
