'Kaizer Chiefs have to bring back the glory days'

Cape Town - Versatile Kaizer Chiefs left-sided player Philani Zulu says winning silverware in 2018/19 is a priority after three trophy-less seasons.

MUST READ: Khuzwayo had no problems with Komphela

Komphela resigned in April following the extended drought and the Glamour Boys are yet to appoint a new man in charge, although an announcement is expected in the near future.

Nonetheless, Zulu, who made 28 Premiership appearances for Amakhosi last season, takes the view that returning to winning ways is important.

"We have to step up. Three seasons with the team not winning anything is unheard of," he told KickOff website.

"It is imperative that we win something as we are a revered club and known also as a big team.

"We have to bring back those glory days and win, and make sure that our fans are happy again.

"Because they are the ones who are behind the team. We play for them in making sure that they remain happy."
