Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia has revealed that the club would be happy to keep Siyanda Xulu if he fails to find a move elsewhere.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns defender's current contract with the Team of Choice is due to expire at the end of the season, with Orlando Pirates reportedly keen on him.
However, Xulu's agent Paul Mitchell of Siyavuma Sports Group has rubbished the rumours of a move to the Buccaneers.
"We gave the player the opportunity. He is coming from a big stable and we wanted to help him get to where he was and obviously, if he doesn't find an offer, we will keep him at the club," Kadodia told FarPost.
The 28-year-old joined Maritzburg from Chiefs in August 2017 and made an immediate impact as he claimed the PSL Defender of the Season award at the end of that first campaign.
