Kadodia can't pay Moon the earth at Maritzburg

Cape Town - Maritzburg United chairperson Farook Kadioda says he is considering signing Kaizer Chiefs reject Ryan Moon but the club can't afford to pay massive wages.

Moon spent three seasons at Maritzburg but struggled to break into the starting line-up throughout his time at Naturena.

The 22-year-old managed five goals in 31 Premiership appearances - a tally not deemed enough to retain the player ahead of the 2019/20 season.

The forward was a United youth development product and was brought to the side by former coach Steve Komphela.

Nonetheless, Kadodia says the club cannot promise the earth when it comes to Moon's salary expectations.

He told KickOff: "Ryan Moon was playing for us, he was part of our development. Football has funny stories and can be cruel.

"When Steve Komphela was our coach, Moon was just a five years project in our development and when Steve left he signed him and now suddenly Komphela is no longer there, Moon is out.

"We have to see what kind of appetite he has. At Chiefs he was probably earning a certain amount which made him live a lifestyle that accommodates his cheque.

"We can't really give him that, that means he will have to change and the question is how we will be able to deal with that situation? That's the reason I haven't rushed on his situation."
