Kabwe tipped to shine at Ajax

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town CEO Ari Efstathiou has praised a "classy" Rodrick Kabwe and tipped the Zambia international to become a "tremendous asset" to the Cape club.

The 24-year-old joined the Urban Warriors from Zambian giants Zanaco FC in December, following a successful trial spell at the club's Ikamva training base.

"Kabwe is a brilliant No 10 who scores and creates goals," Efstathiou told the club's official website.

"He netted 10 goals for Zanaco last season and will be a tremendous asset to the club. He is a class player."

Kabwe, who has also turned out for Kabwe Warriors in the Zambian Premier League, will be hoping to make his Ajax debut when the Premiership resumes in February.

Stanley Menzo's men lock horns with title-chasing Bidvest Wits in Johannesburg on 7 February and will be looking to record a third straight victory in a bid to move into the top half of the Premiership table.
