Cape Town - Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has reportedly
agreed a deal in principle to extend his contract with the Clever Boys beyond
the current season.
Josephs has been at Wits since 2013 during which time he has
helped them to win the Premiership title, Telkom Knockout and MTN8 trophies.
Earlier in his career he also had a stint with the Braamfontein-based outfit
from 2006 until 2008.
Nonetheless, despite the veteran approaching his 38th
birthday in May, it appears the Gavin Hunt-coached side are eager to retain his
services for the foreseeable future.
Currently, Darren Keet remains first choice however it is
though that Josephs' experience and pedigree as a top level performer is valued
highly by Hunt.
The Cape Town born star's representative John Wilson told
Soccer Laduma: "We've been in talks with Wits, and now we have agreed
terms in principle and only have some last details to finalise before Moeneeb
puts pen to paper."
The former Bafana Bafana shot-stopper started his career
over 20 years ago with Cape Town Spurs and is now set for at least another
season in South Africa's top flight.
