Cape Town - AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson has confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs has been given compassionate leave as his mother is not well.
Josephs, who made his professional debut for Cape Town Spurs way back in 1997, has been absent from training this week as Usuthu prepare to face Orlando Pirates in a Telkom Knockout quarter-final on Saturday evening.
The 38-year-old has not featured for the Durban-based outfit in the last four matches as Siyabonga Mbatha has claimed the number one spot.
Johnson told reporters: “Moeneeb's mother, she's okay and we are happy for that.
“He hasn't come back because, like I said before, when things like that happen to my players or things like that happen to my staff, you can go home for three months, six months, it doesn't bother me.
“As long as when you come back all those things are sorted. So, he's okay, but he won't be in contention to feature in this game.”
Saturday's TKO clash against the Sea Robbers is set to take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium from 18:00.
