TS Galaxy midfielder Thembinkosi Mbamba was the latest to lose his life on the road following an accident just a week after winning the Nedbank Cup final in a victory over Kaizer Chiefs.
His passing means he joins a tragic list of deceased footballers from SA which includes the likes of Lesley Manyathela, Gift Leremi, Cecil Lolo and more recently Sinethemba Jantjie.
In addition, Chiefs midfielder Wiseman Meyiwa also was involved in a crash which left him paralysed from the waist down.
As such, Jordaan has indicated that measures must be taken to ensure that this state of affairs is brought to an abrupt end.
The experienced administrator told SAFA's official website: "The football fraternity has been plunged into mourning following the passing on of Mbamba.
"We have been losing a lot of our players to road accidents and something needs to be done to stop this carnage."
