Cape Town - Jomo Cosmos coach Jomo Sono believes his team will survive relegation if they build on their performance against Bidvest Wits on Wednesday night.
Ezenkosi came out guns blazing during their Premiership match against league title contenders Wits at Olen Park, taking the game to the visiting side early in the first half when Charlton Mashumba struck the crossbar with a volley in the 13th minute.
Jomo Sono's men continued to over-run the Clever Boys tirelessly, however Henrico Botes' strike from a set-piece in the 24th minute proved their downfall.
"It was one team on the park, it was Cosmos the whole 90 minutes. They had one chance, which was a set-piece, and we discussed it ... we gave them a silly goal," Sono said.
"But I’m very proud of the team the way they played, if they carry on playing like this there’s no way they’ll go down, we just have to use our chances.
"We created so many chances, I even told their coach and he said ja, there’s only one team.
"They had a lot of positive energy today and actually, tactically, we planned very well for Wits, I mean they never had a shot at goal.
"Tactically everything went according to the plan except for the goal, but we’ll carry on fighting."
Ezenkosi are currently sitting 15th position in the Premiership standings with only six matches left to play. They face league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns away from home in their next match on Saturday.
