Jomo Cosmos owner Jomo Sono has revealed that he does not want to comment on the suspension of all football in the country due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The South African soccer legend believes that once the Premier Soccer League (PSL) chairperson, Irvin Khoza, has spoken nobody else would say anything because they are "scared".

"No, we are scared of talking about this thing. Remember, it's a protocol, the chairman has spoken and we can't talk after that," Sono tells KickOff website.

"We must follow the protocol. I don't know (if it was the right decision). When the chairman has spoken, we can't talk, whether wrong or right we can't talk. Honestly, we can't. We don't know, the chairman has spoken. I can't talk.

"I know you are leading me to talk, I won't talk, except that the chairman has spoken. I can't speak after the chairman, I can't, it's wrong. I must follow the protocol.

The PSL suspended all matches until further notice following the coronavirus outbreak in South Africa.

The PSL held an "urgent meeting" with its executive committee last week following President Cyril Ramaphosa's address to the nation.

After the meeting, PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza announced at a press conference in Johannesburg that all matches have been suspended, including the Absa Premiership, GladAfrica Championship and the Multichoice Diski Challenge.
