Johnson knows his team have to 'fight' against wounded Pirates

Cape Town - AmaZulu head coach Cavin Johnson says it is never a good time to play Orlando Pirates as his team prepare to welcome the Soweto giants to the King Zwelithini Stadium on Tuesday.

Pirates are not in the best of form at the moment as they have lost their last three games, including a 1-0 reverse against Highlands Park on Saturday that saw them dumped out of the MTN 8.

The Buccaneers are also still reeling from the fact that their coach Milutin Sredojevic quit after only three games into the new season to join Egyptian giants Zamalek.

Johnson though is not reading to much into the problems the Soweto club are currently facing.

The Usuthu mentor said in quotes published on the club's website: "There is never a right time to play anyone. Everyone prepares to win.

"We have to fight. We expect to play a fighting team, a running team and one that is very technical."

Amazulu themselves have not had the best of starts to this campaign.

They lost 3-0 at home to Wits in their league opener and then went down 1-0 away to Polokwane City.

Johnson added: "We have not started on a good note, we have played good football but we have not got the results.

"The players have done really well; we know it's going to be a tough game tomorrow but it is our home game and we have to be confident."
