Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Monyane has revealed the words of wisdom he has been given by club captain Happy Jele for his development.
Monyane, although just 19, has been the Buccanneers' first-choice right-back this season and is also able to play in a variety of other positions.
There is understandably a lot of hype surrounding the Amajita star, but Jele wants Monyane to absorb as much information as he possibly can and never think that he knows it all.
"At training, they (seniors) always sit me down and we talk, especially the likes of Happy Jele - he always advises me because he has played in this position, and he knows and is more experienced," Monyane told KickOff.
“So, all he had to say to me was, ‘For this season, my boy, I want you to listen and learn. Just be as dumb as possible and learn whatever you can, so that you continue to gain experience.”
On Saturday, Buccaneers will entertain Absa Premiership newbies Stellenbosch in a Telkom Knockout Last 16 clash at Orlando Stadium.
Kick-off is at 18:00.
