Cape Town - Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele says he is over the moon about extending his deal at the club for another season.
Jele has been with Pirates since 2006 and has played a pivotal role during his 13-year stay with the Sea Robbers.
The 32-year-old has shown his versatility over the years and made a successful switch to central defence in 2018/19.
Speaking of his new contract which comes with an option for a further season, he said: "All I can say is that I am very happy.
"The team recognised me at an early age and they still honour me even now. And for this contract, I appreciate it. It does not matter if it's one year or two years, for me I want to be in the field all the time. That's the most important thing.
"You need to be happy as a person, that's the one that's important. It does not matter if you get six months, as long as you play, and you are happy then it's cool.
"So, I was happy with the one-year contract that they have me. I will see what's going to happen next season."
