Jappie joins United from Arrows

Cape Town - Maritzburg United have confirmed the signing of former Free State Stars and Golden Arrows winger Yusuf Jappie.

Jappie was with Free State Stars for one season, joining them from Arrows. He made 32 appearances before Stars were relegated from the Absa Premiership to the National First Division.

After losing Siphesihle Ndlovu and Fortune Makaringe to Orlando Pirates, Maritzburg coach Eric Tinkler is trying to bolster the squad. Jappie and Kwanda Mngonyama have been signed, while Thamsanqa Sangweni is on trial.

The club could look at bringing in a more players before the season starts.
