Isaacs: Kaizer Chiefs a well-oiled machine

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs has credited his former side after their victory in the Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

Amakhosi emerged from the FNB Stadium with a 1-0 win over their rivals but goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi was the star as he produced some fine saves to make sure his team got maximum points.

Even though Akpeyi has been getting plaudits for the result, Isaacs feels Chiefs had a good game-plan to stifle the Pirates attackers.

Isaacs told KickOff: "It was okay (the performance).

"Chiefs are a well-oiled machine, they were well organised most of the game even though Pirates had a few clear-cut chances.

"I can say Chiefs' keeper had a very good game. Adding to that Chiefs also kept Mhango, Memela and Lorch quiet most of the game.

"Look, if Pirates scored their chances first half, it would've been a different game."

Isaacs also feels Amakhosi will go on to become league champions after the positive result in the derby.

He said: "It means a lot. People are looking at Chiefs only and not looking at the other teams that are slipping away.

"People are focused on Chiefs... meanwhile Pirates, Sundowns, Wits, SuperSport aren't winning their games in hand."
