Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda is expected to miss the remainder of the domestic season with a ligament injury.
The Bafana Bafana anchorman was hurt during last week's 0-0 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic and according to coach Pitso Mosimane, will only be back towards the end of May.
This means he would miss the run in to the league campaign, although he could still feature in the CAF Champions League, provided his team are not eliminated before then.
"It's six weeks. It's slightly torn ligaments. I think you saw the tackle. I don't want to say who or what, you saw the tackle," Mosimane told KickOff website.
Meanwhile, Mosimane says he won't be tempted to rush goalkeeper Denis Onyango back from injury.
"Our goalkeepers are not making big saves – they are on holiday," Moismane claimed.
"Even against Chiefs (a 2-1 defeat) there was never a threat, so our keepers are on holiday.
"We play one side and goalkeepers from the other team are winning man of the match awards. So there is no need to rush Denis unless you are emotional. We will wait for Denis, he can rest a little bit as there is a big programme coming in May and June."
