Cape Town - After a difficult start to the season, SuperSport United are on a three-game unbeaten run in the league and coach Gordon Igesund is delighted by the resolve his squad has shown.
After winning their opening Absa Premiership game of the season on 12 August, Matsatsantsa went on a six-game winless run, including four losses in a row, until they eventually picked up a league victory two-and-a-half months later against Chippa United on 27 October.
"In our last [three] league games, the team has done really well and we're unbeaten," he told KickOff.
"Two of those games were away from home, so I'm quite happy with the way we have turned things around.
"In the league, we're only three or four points off sixth position, and nine or ten points off the top teams. I'm quite happy with the guys, they've responded well and are really motivated."
Igesund is also unhappy about the stop-start nature of the fixture list over the next month, with only one league fixture to be played between now and the middle of December.
"It's just unfortunate that we now have to wait so long for our next game," he added.
"The break doesn't work in anybody's favour, especially being so long. It's a long, long time - sometimes you get a break for six to eight days which is okay to deal with, but this break is difficult for all coaches and teams.
"It's not easy, but there's no complaints as we all understand it's for our national teams and we want them to do well."
