Cape Town - Bidvest Wits head coach Gavin Hunt spoke about his team's need for greater squad depth following the 1-1 Absa Premiership draw with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Hunt's charges came back from a goal down to come away with a point at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday night thanks to Gift Motupa's equaliser.
The result leaves the Clever Boys in fourth position in the standings, 14 points behind leaders Kaizer Chiefs but with three games in hand.
Speaking after the game Hunt revealed that he wants a few more signings to add some much-needed depth to his thread-bare roster of 21 players.
"We just need a little more quality, we're struggling in one or two areas, we've only got 21 players, we're down to the bare minimum, so we need one or two that's for sure. You come into the new season, you don't know whether it's going to be good or bad," Hunt told SuperSport TV.
"Right now, how many games have we played? Ten games, how many points? For a team of our size, I would have taken it at the beginning of the season? I would have taken it with the situation we're in.
"I mean Chiefs is well on top, right now we've only played ten games, 20 games left and I've always said the more we play, the better we all get. We weren't playing at all at the beginning when everybody else was playing, so we're trying to find our rhythm and I think these games [in hand] will help us the more we play.
"We have another one on Friday which is a quick turn-around. We could've had another day but... and they will be fresh and waiting, you know what I mean? But we'll certainly get better, we need one or two more bodies, that's for sure."
