Wits coach Gavin Hunt has urged goalkeeper Darren Keet to make a decision on his future with only two months on his contract remaining.
There has been talk that Keet wants to return to Europe, while the 31-year-old shot-stopper has also been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, with Amakhosi boss Ernst Middendorp having expressed an interest in the Bafana Bafana number two before.
Keet has been ever-present for Hunt's side in the last three seasons, helping them to their first-ever PSL title, the Telkom Knockout as well as the MTN8.
“He is out of contract and we all know that. We need to get some sort of clarity going forward, you know what I mean if he is going to stay or go,” Hunt told IOL.
After a talismanic performance in Bafana's 2-1 win over Libya which secured Stuart Baxter's men passage to the African Cup of Nations 2019, Keet shipped 10 goals in his following four matches for the Johannesburg-based side, which saw him lose his starting spot to Ricardo Goss in their last two matches.
“I don’t really rotate goalkeepers. I really don’t. I felt there was a need to play him (Goss) and to look at him. He was unfortunate last week with an own goal. He was okay. He did what he had to do.
"He is a totally different keeper to Darren. Totally different in terms of the make-up and how they are. Sometimes you need to change the face,” Hunt explained.
