Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has lauded striker James Keene's mentality and his overall football ability since joining the club.
The 30-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs trialist was snapped up by Wits after impressing Hunt on a trial that started in November last year.
After just 10 outings for the Clever Boys, the former Portsmouth, IF Elfsborg and Halmstads BK striker has lived up to expectations and bagged seven goals, leaving Hunt very impressed by his quality.
"Obviously he came to us on recommendation [by Stuart Baxter]," Hunt told Football411. "We looked at him and I really like him which is why we signed him.
"I like his overall ability as a footballer. He is goal scorer and that is what you want in a striker. He's got a wide mentality that I like and that is very important for the team."
Meanwhile, having lost 0-3 at home to Tanzania's Azam FC in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup first round tie at the Bidvest Stadium last weekend, Hunt has revealed that he will use this Sunday's return leg to have a look at some of his younger players.
"Obviously we had an opportunity to take control of the tie last weekend and we didn't do that," he added. "So we are going to go there this weekend and try to play the younger players and try to build for the future."
