Hunt labels Domingo's lack of Bafana caps a disgrace

Cape Town - Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt believes attacking midfielder Haashim Domingo deserves to be selected for Bafana Bafana due to his massive quality.

Domingo joined the Clever Boys from Portuguese B side Vitoria Guimaraes before the 2018/19 campaign, and played a significant impact in Wits' 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old made a sharp break down the right-hand side before seeing his attempted cross deflect into the net via the unfortunate Gladwin Shitolo.

As such, Hunt expressed frustration that the rising starlet has not yet been recognised at senior international level.

Speaking to SuperSport after the clash with the Sea Robbers, he said: "We're little bit short in areas, (Granwald) Scott is out long term, (Daylon) Claasen is out.

"For me Haashim (Domingo) is a hidden gem. How he hasn't played for Bafana is a disgrace. That's what happens, players like that get lost.

"He's a fantastic footballer. He was brilliant for us. He can only get better and better."
